My issue with the zoning is that I live in the neighborhood across from the Discovery School(105 Crossway Drive) and we are not zoned to go there. We are zoned to go to Oakmont. It is out of my way to go to Oakmont. I am not sending my child to a school that has an over crowding problem. That just means that the teacher/student ratio is bad. My child will be starting Kindergarten in the fall of this year and I am having a hard time deciding what to do. My options are limited because of this zoning issue. I want my child in Discovery, but I am going to have to go and wait in line on registration day to try to get my daughter into that school. I have been told it is nearly impossible to get in unless you are zoned to go there. I do not know who decides the zoning but I am disgusted by it. I just would like someone to tell me why the zoning was done the way it was.
